Hands down the best baba ganoush and taboulleh we have ever had, the mezze board was enormous, and the lentil soup is absolutely incredible. The staff are so lovely and helpful. Such reasonable prices for such a variety (and amount!) of food.
It's easily the best restaurant in Exeter, right now. Notwithstanding the incredible Turkish food, all of which had authentic incredible flavours (and huge portions), the service is second to none, plus extra free bread, soup etc, makes this a wonderful venue, not to be missed if you are looking to dine in the town.
8.5/10, a great place to try something beyond the usual kebab!I have been ordering takeaway from Babylon since they opened, and the kuzi and stews have never let me down.Although I have often had their food as takeaway, this was actually my first time visiting in person. I ordered the mixed kuzi, and it was absolutely delicious. The on-house lentil soup served before the main dish was rich, warm, and savoury, a perfect appetiser! The main dish -- mixed kuzi, was a generous combination of slow-cooked chicken and lamb. The lamb was so tender to the extent that no chewing was needed —it literally melts in your mouth! The chicken, in contrast, will give you a very different tasting experience when soaked with the stew, so definitely try that out! The pitta bread was also indeed tasty—soft, tender, and moist, with a nicely crunchy side, I simply couldn’t get enough of it In terms of pricing, the mixed kuzi is 16.99, similar to other kebab restaurants in Exeter, but the portion size is quite large. The staff are kind and friendly despite being quite busy. I would say my experience dining at Babylon was overall a very delightful experience. Have a go with their kuzi -- you will probably love it!
During my today's visit to Babylon Restaurant in Exeter, I had the pleasure of indulging in their renowned Iskender Kebab, and I can confidently say it was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. The Iskender Kebab was nothing short of a masterpiece. The lamb was marinated to perfection, grilled until tender, and served over a bed of warm, fresh pita bread. The generous drizzle of tangy tomato sauce brought the dish to life, while a dollop of creamy yogurt added a rich and smooth contrast. Each bite was incredibly flavorful and satisfying, leaving me craving more.To complement this delicious main course, I started with a bowl of their lentil soup. It was hearty and well-seasoned, with a velvety texture that was both comforting and delightful. The spices used in the soup enhanced the overall experience and prepared my palate for the main event. To round off my meal, I enjoyed a cup of their tea, which was the perfect finale. The fragrant brew was soothing and refreshing, creating a lovely balance after the savory dishes. The combination of the soup, kebab, and tea made for a truly harmonious dining experience. Moreover, I must commend the owner for their exceptional hospitality. They were incredibly polite and attentive, ensuring that my dining experience was nothing short of perfect. Their warm demeanor added a personal touch that made me feel valued as a guest.
Babylon is undoubtedly one of the best Middle Eastern restaurants in Exeter. On the way back home from Cornwall, my family and I decided to stay a night in Exeter and were looking for halal places to eat.We came across Babylon, and it turned out to be a hidden gem. The restaurant is very big with plenty of seating space, and the staff are friendly, recommending some great dishes. We ordered quite a few dishes, and all of them were top-notch. The food was freshly cooked, rich in flavours, and absolutely delicious—just finger-licking good. Loved each and every bite of it.Babylon is definitely underrated in the area, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an outstanding Middle Eastern dining experience in Exeter.
There were 7 of us in our party, eating at lunchtime. From the welcome to the parting, service was brilliant, friendly and helpful. We had the sharing hot meze starter and the Babylon sharing platter for mains. All food was delicious, I couldn't recommend it enough, great taste and portion size was great, we left stuffed!! They even gave us free lentil soup to start. Great value for money too. Will definitely return when back in Exeter
The food here is incredibly delicious. The portions are generous and the staff are welcoming. an absolute gem of a place. Will definitely be back. Thanks
Very good service. Food is very tasty. We ordered mixed grill for one and chefs salad with falafel. Portion size very generous. Also lentil soup that comes free as a starter is a pleasant surprise. We could not finish the food fully, so they kindly provided us a takeaway box as well. Value for the money. Highly recommended if you’re after Turkish food.
